Roots Uke Class - Begins Feb 7

Roots Uke Class - Begins Feb 7

Tuesday, February 28Tue, Feb 28

Zoom

Feb Roots Uke - Blues Boot Camp

Tuesdays 11 AM & 5 PM Pacific Time

Feb 7, 14 & 21.

Description: This month is all about vocabulary.  We’re going to hunker down and learn as many

blues licks as possible. These licks will help us build a foundation that we can use to create improvisations

In the weeks to come. And we’ll have a lot of fun doing it.

Areas of Focus:

We are focusing on melodic, harmonic and rhythmic vocabulary.  We will look at the pentatonic, blues and gospel scales, but not what notes they contain, but how to build and play licks out of them. Too much time is spent running up and down scales in direct sequence. We’re going to learn how to really get the most out of scales in practice and in play.

Prerequisites: There are no hard requirements, but we strongly recommend basic TAB reading and interest in exploring blues rhythm.
