May Beginner - Intro to the Circle of Fifths Thursdays 11 AM Pacific Time May 9 & 16
Description: This month we will explore a Hawai’ian vamp, Alice’s Restaurant, Five foot Two & Mister Sandman Allow me to explain a little bit about why the Circle of Fifths is so freaking cool! Music theory is intimidating for most, but I believe the exercises we are going to do will, at the very least, spark that light bulb above your head and, at the most, that light bulb may begin to shine like a lighthouse! We’ll begin with 3 chords for a Hawai’ian vamp, then add one more for the satirical classic by Arlo Guthrie. Then we add another for every beginners favorite vintage tune Five Foot Two, then we’ll add one more chord to finish with Mister Sandman. This is music theory for beginners! And I’m sure you’ll feel right at home.
