Fingerstyle - What a Day for a Daydream; Simple Chord Melody Solo

Description
Learning to fish in this one! This song is perfect for laying on the hammock in the early summer light and gently pluckinga way on the melody while you apply simple chords and rhythmic elements. While some chord melody songs have complex rhythm accompaniment, this month we will focus on highlighting the melody while adding just the essentials on the rhythm part. You’ll also learn how to substitute chords (Bb instead of Gm7) and why. The goal of the class is to open your mind to the possibilities of creating simple chord melodies on your own.
This class is the first in a 3 month series on learning to create chord melody solos. Check out the Beginner Class which is also on the same topic but a little simpler.

Blues - Rockabilly Blues

All of Me is a perfect vehicle for early jazz harmony and forward motion. We’ll focus on closed chords that outline the form cleanly while supporting the lyrics, then develop a solo etude built on classic swing vocabulary.
